“I had a tough first season here, but it is what it is. You have to get on with it."

Ben Brereton doesn't pull any punches. That's been the case for the forward ever since arriving from Nottingham Forest last summer.

The 20-year-old has been up front in every interview and his latest is no different, with the striker determined to change his fortunes in blue-and-white.

The youngster scored once last season, which came in the victory against Bolton Wanderers at Ewood Park back in April.

“I had a tough first season here, but it is what it is," the frontman reflected in typically honest fashion to iFollow Rovers.

"You have to get on with it. I feel fit, I've had a good off-season and I'm looking forward to the next campaign.

“The lads have always been behind me all the way, this is definitely the right place for me and I'm loving every minute of my time here.

“All the lads are quality here and it's definitely the best changing room that I've been involved in.

“I know I can be better and I know I need to work hard. I really worked hard in the summer to make sure I came back fitter and ready for pre-season."
