Saffron Jordan says it was an easy decision to sign on for another season at Rovers Ladies.
The striker has led the line admirably over the past four years, scoring 104 times in 126 games for the Blues since joining in 2015.
And last season she helped to fire Rovers into the second tier, bagging 47 goals in 36 games – a tally which led her to deservedly picking up the top goalscorer award.
About to start her fifth consecutive season in blue and white, having joined the 100 club last campaign, she had no qualms about extending her stay.
“I was already there before it came out. There was no chance I was leaving this club.
“We’ve worked so hard to get here and the club have always worked hard to support us as well. I’m a loyal player and I’ll always stay that.”
And last season’s leading scorer, who has taken over the captaincy from the retiring Lynda Shepherd, believes it’s all about the team ethic that has been fostered within the club.
“It’s a family vibe and we’re all like sisters, we’d run through walls for each other so we’ve got that going for us.
“In other teams there have been a lot of changes and players moving clubs but we’ve got our core values and our core players.
“Obviously we’ll have additional players and will welcome them as it’s all about this extended family.”
She’s excited about the prospect of playing Championship football as a Rovers player, but doesn’t want to be just making up the numbers.
“As a team we want to be competitive in our league and to be known as a tough team to play.
“Obviously I will hopefully retain top goalscorer but it’s not the first thing on my mind. It’s just if I play well and assist or score goals, I’ll be happy about that.”
