Adam Armstrong is looking forward to featuring against Rangers for the first time in his career on Sunday afternoon, as Rovers' pre-season preparations continue.
Rovers head north of the border to Glasgow to tackle Steven Gerrard's side at Ibrox, in what Armstrong descibes as "a good occasion".
No player appeared more for Rovers than the 22-year-old in 2018-19, and the former Newcastle United trainee is eager for the team to showcase their quality on one of Scotland's biggest stages.
“It’s a brilliant game for us this weekend," the frontman told iFollow Rovers ahead of the encounter.
"I’ve never played against Rangers before and I think that’s the case for the majority of the lads.
“It’ll be a good test for us ahead of the season and I’m sure it’ll be a good occasion for both us as players and the fans, too.
“Hopefully we’ll have a good day there. It’s a massive team in Scotland, so hopefully we can play well there and get the result.
“My Scottish team is Rangers. It’ll be special to play there at their stadium," he added.
“We need these sort of games to compare ourselves against and hopefully we can show what we’re all about.
“It’s about boosting the fitness, but we want to win the game, there’s no doubt about that. We’ll look to put on a good performance and work on the tactics that we’ve been producing in pre-season."
