A scan for Sam...

Tony Mowbray has revealed that Sam Hart will have a scan later today on a hamstring injury picked up in the win over Bury last night.

Hart, who's featured regularly so far this season, started Rovers' penultimate pre-season friendly of the summer at Gigg Lane, but was forced off with an injury just before half time.

That would prove to be the only disappointment for Mowbray, on a night where he saw his side really put on a show against the League One Shakers.

The likes of Darragh Lenihan and Corry Evans missed out on the trip to Greater Manchester, with the boss revealing there is nothing to fear regarding knocks to the experienced duo.

“It’s frustrating for Sam because he’s been fantastic in pre-season," Mowbray said when discussing Hart's injury.

“I told him that he won’t be going out on loan because he’s genuine competition for Amari’i Bell and Derrick Williams.

“Sam’s tweaked his hamstring and will go for a scan tomorrow, and it’s really disappointing for him because he’s been very good in pre-season.

“[Darragh] Lenihan didn’t travel because he’s played a lot of football recently. I didn’t want the temptation to put him on the pitch at some point," he added.

“Tyler [Magloire] needed some minutes, Ryan [Nyambe] needed some minutes as well and they got that.

“Corry’s not quite right at the moment and it’s not worth taking the risk on him. It’s just a little niggle and nothing to worry about."
