Rovers defender Scott Wharton has joined Bury until the end of the season after being recalled from his loan spell at fellow League Two club Lincoln City.
The 21-year-old had joined Lincoln on a season-long loan deal in July after enjoying a successful spell at Sincil Bank during the second half of last season.
However, after making just five league starts this season, Wharton was recalled by Rovers and will now spend the rest of the 2018-19 campaign on loan at Gigg Lane.
Bury are currently second in League Two, six points behind leaders Lincoln, and the top two meet at Gigg Lane this weekend.
A product of Rovers' Academy, Wharton made his debut for the club in a 2-2 draw against Burton Albion in the Championship in August 2016 and has gone on to make a further five first team appearances, scoring once.
