Damien Johnson's in form Under-23s side are back in action this evening when Derby County's Under-23s visit the Lancashire FA HQ in Leyland.

Johnson's charges have won their last four games in all competitions, the latest of which was an impressive 1-0 win against Chelsea at Aldershot Town's EBB Stadium last weekend.

Derby, sitting two points and a place above the Londoners in Premier League, will provide a similar test, and come into the game this evening in poor form.

The Rams have lost their last three games in Premier League 2, with the latest result being a 5-1 home defeat to basement side Swansea City.

Rovers know another win is likely to haul them out of the relegation zone, with Johnson's team potentially shooting up to 8th in the league table.

In terms of team news, the hosts are likely to be without Joe Nuttall, who scored in the first team's excellent victory over Millwall at the weekend.

With Tony Mowbray's troops being in FA Cup action on Tuesday night against Newcastle United, Nuttall could start for a second successive game and therefore may not play a part at Leyland.

Jack Evans remains a few weeks away from fitness following a foot injury, but Matty Platt is likely to continue in defence after being recalled from Accrington Stanley earlier this month.

Dan Butterworth, who was on the bench for the first team at the weekend, will definitely not play as he is serving the final match of his three-game suspension after being sent off against Swansea City.

Derby, who are coached by former Rover Craig Short, could include experienced pair Ikechi Anya and Jacob Butterfield in their squad this evening.

Kick-off at Leyland is at 7pm, and as always, entrance to the match will be free of charge for season ticket holders, and just £3 for non-season ticket holders.
