Tony Mowbray has hailed the Rovers support at Newcastle United at the weekend, and wants a packed house in the replay at Ewood Park next week to cheer the team on to victory.
More than 3,000 fans made the trip to the north-east to witness the third round clash, which will now go to a replay in East Lancashire next week.
And looking ahead to the clash against the Magpies, which has been confirmed for Tuesday 15th January, kick-off 7.45pm, Mowbray wants as many Rovers fans as possible to squeeze into Ewood Park.
“We had amazing support once again in the first game at Newcastle," he told iFollow Rovers.
"I had to take a second look because I saw so many fans supporting us in that top section at St James' Park.
“How long have I said this? Our fans have been amazing, I remember when I first arrived and we went away at Burton, our fans filled the whole end of that shed.
“Our fans don't surprise me these days because that give us such great support and make so much noise
“I'd like to think the fans had an enjoyable day supporting us.
“For the team, to have a bumper crowd at Ewood Park for the replay would be amazing. To have a support base which is numerically behind them would be brilliant.
“We've just been to the likes of Elland Road and Bramall Lane, and you can feel the ball being sucked towards goal.
“You can feel their team get better when their fans give that noise to encourage them forward. Our team and these players deserve similar.
“This isn't a criticism of the people that come to games, they have been fantastic for us. I look at the numbers and expect Newcastle United to fill the Darwen End by bringing 7,000 or 8,000 supporters.
"I really hope our fans can react to that, bring friends along and make it a fantastic night.”
