Tony Mowbray says Derrick Williams is a doubt for Saturday's trip to Newcastle United in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.
The boss has seen Elliott Bennett return to the squad in the last week or so, whilst Ryan Nyambe is almost fully recovered from his hamstring injury that he picked up against Leeds United on Boxing Day.
Elsewhere, loan pair Kasey Palmer and Harrison Reed have been given permission from parent clubs Chelsea and Southampton respectively to play for Rovers at the weekend.
But one player who may miss out is Derrick Williams, who Mowbray has confirmed is a doubt for the game at St James' Park.
“We have a few back in training," the boss confirmed to iFollow Rovers ahead of the game against the Geordies.
"[Ryan] Nyambe trained today and Craig [Conway] was back in the squad against West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday.
“Elliott’s fitted back in at the weekend. Derrick Williams probably won’t make it, but he’s due to train tomorrow, so we’ll see how he comes along.
“Generally we are looking okay at the moment. [Joe] Nuttall trained today after missing out last time out with an illness.
“We’ll be taking a fairly strong squad to Newcastle and try to give them a good game."
