Rovers are aiming to reach the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup with victory over Premier League side Newcastle United on Tuesday evening.
Here's our guide to the game...
STATE OF PLAY
Rovers continued their unbeaten start to 2019 by beating Millwall 2-0 at The Den on Saturday evening.
Two quick fire goals from Joe Nuttall and Adam Armstrong late on in the game gave Rovers all the three points, moving the Blues up to 14th in the Sky Bet Championship table.
Tony Mowbray’s side drew 1-1 at St James’ Park in the first game. Bradley Dack had opened the scoring before a late penalty denied Rovers victory over the Premier league outfit.
The winner of Tuesday’s tie will face Watford at home in the Fourth Round of the competition.
Kick-off at Ewood Park is scheduled for 7:45pm on Tuesday and fans can follow the action via our official Twitter account.
Charlie Mulgrew and Derrick Williams both trained on Monday after missing the win over Millwall and will be assessed ahead of the game.
Corry Evans did not train and is unlikely to make the game, but Tony Mowbray is hopeful that the injury will not keep him out for too long.
However, there is another centre-midfielder back in the frame asRichie Smallwood returns from suspension.
As always, we'll bring you news of both starting line-ups via rovers.co.uk and our official social media accounts on matchday.
Newcastle currently sit in 18th position in the Premier League, having slipped into the relegation zone after a 2-1 defeat away to Chelsea last weekend.
The Magpies are currently a point from safety, having collected 18 points from their opening 22 games.
Rovers did the double over Rafa Benitez’s side when the sides met in the Championship in the 2016/17 season. Charlie Mulgrew scored the winner in both games.
