Damien Johnson says tonight's Premier League Cup game against Sheffield United is one his side has to win.

The Blades, whose Development Squad sit sixth in the Professional Development League table, beat Rovers in the reverse fixture back in October, and Johnson's side will be looking for revenge this time around.

A win for Johnson's charges will lift them above United, who are placed in second place in Group B, with clashes against Everton and Doncaster Rovers still to play.

And although further games remain, Johnson's targetting three points to haul themselves into the top two.

“We have to win, there’s no two ways about it, Johnson said in the lead up to tonight's clash at Leyland.

“We know that’s going to be a tough game. They turned us over at their place and we know what we’ll be up against.

“We have to be ready and I’m sure we will be. I’m expecting a reaction. The lads were disappointed with themselves (after Derby).

“They have been better than that and the challenge is to get back to what we have been doing over the last few weeks and months.”
