Grayson goes to Grimsby

The Rovers defender has made the move to League Two to link up with the Mariners

18 January 2019

Rovers can announce that young defender Joe Grayson has joined League Two side Grimsby Town on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old starlet, who can play at centre back or left back, has been a regular in Damien Johnson's Development Squad this season in Premier League 2.

A set piece expert, Academy graduate Grayson made his first team debut for Rovers against Grimsby's local rivals Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup back in August 2018.

Grayson's game time that night resulted in him being a part in only the third father and son to have represented the club, with dad Simon appearing 40 times for us between 1999 and 2002.

The switch to Blundell Park will see Grayson get regular first team football under his belt for a club that sit 10 points off the play-off places in League Two.

Good luck, Joe!
