Three consecutive Championship victories, back-to-back Championship clean sheets and back into the top half of the division, it's fair to say 2019 has started well for Rovers.

Whilst the turn of the year has been kind to Rovers, the season has been a good one for Evans, who has been a regular in Tony Mowbray's teams.

And speaking after the latest victory against Ipswich Town, Evans is eager to keep up his fine form and help haul Rovers into the top six come the end of the campaign.

“It's been a good month for us with three wins on the bounce. The aim now is to make it four next weekend," the Northern Irish midfielder told iFollow Rovers.

“It was a tough December for us. We were unfortunate over the Christmas time to not come out of the period with more points on the board, but we stuck together and 2019 has so far been good to us.

“We're in touching distance of the play-offs now and we just want to push closer with every match we play.

“It's nice to have something to play for. We'll give our all to get to the play-offs. Once you get in there you never know what will happen.

“I think the aim was to consolidate this season, but we've seen teams in the past like Norwich and Southampton who have earned back-to-back promotions from League One to the Premier League.

“We've managed to get back on track, so it's just about keeping the form up now."
