Damien Johnson has been thrilled with what he has seen from countryman Brad Lyons after the young midfielder penned a permanent stay at Rovers earlier today.
Lyons, who arrived on deadline day in the summer on loan from Coleraine, has shown his quality in Development Squad outings since arriving in East Lancashire.
And Johnson has been thrilled to see the 21-year-old grab the opportunity with both hands since moving to England.
"You're never quite sure when a kid has to come into a full time environment," Damien said.
"Brad had a job back in Northern Ireland and trained Tuesdays and Thursdays with Coleraine.
"But he's come in and has been a breath of fresh air. You can see he is desperate to make the most of the opportunity here and has maximised every moment.
"We can see that continual improvement in him and he's become a big player for us.
"We're delighted that he is here permanently, and we know there has been plenty of interest in him."
