Bradley Dack was once again on the scoresheet against Newcastle United on Saturday, and boss Tony Mowbray was thrilled to see his talisman come up with the goods.
Known more for his strikes with either foot, Dack's planted header gave Rovers the lead at St James' Park.
And the boss believes the number 23 is improving with every game he plays in his first season as a Championship player.
“It's good that Bradley's scoring headers. He leapt like a salmon and showed the world that he can score headers," Mowbray told iFollow Rovers.
“He put one in the top corner with his left foot against West Bromwich Albion, scores with his right foot and can score headers as well.
“He's a really talented boy and we need to keep him fit and enjoying his football. There are aspects of his game that we need to keep going – his physicality, his lifestyle, watching how he eats and drinks and staying lean.
“But people said the same about [Paul] Gascoigne and [Wayne] Rooney, and whilst he's perhaps not in that same class, the body shape and the frame remains the same.
“Part of his strength is his hip and movement. We'll keep him enjoying his football, in the team, scoring goals and getting assists."
