Jack Rodwell has played his part in three consecutive Championship clean sheets for Rovers, and team-mate Elliott Bennett says the former England man has been a breath of fresh air.
The former Everton and Manchester City player arrived in the summer on a free transfer, and has shown that top flight class in recent weeks in particular.
He bagged his first Rovers goal at the weekend in their superb 3-0 home win against Hull City at Ewood, which left Bennett purring.
“Jack’s an outstanding football player and we’re lucky to have him," he told iFollow Rovers following the victory.
"He’s a joy to watch and has so much composure on the ball.
“The way he plays the game, he’s not a shouter, but on the pitch you know he’s there. He’s been magnificent for us.
“A lot of players go through difficult spells with injuries and things like that. Unfortunately for Jack, he’s had that.
“But on the flip side, it’s good for us because that is why he’s here. We’re so pleased to have him on board. I call him Rolls Royce Rodwell!"
