The Blackburn Rovers Community Trust are proud to announce the launch of the first ever BRCT Sports Awards for 2019 and the launch event this week was a huge success.

Around 100 members of all ages and backgrounds from all types of bussinesses and schools attended the launch. Many who are partners of the trust and plenty of new faces found out about the positive impact the Trust is having on the community.

The evening was kicked off by host Adrian Ward who handed the floor to CEO Gary Robinson and deputy David Dunwell who gave a greater insight into the impact that the Trust has on the local and wider community.

Rovers CE Steve Waggott spoke at length of his involvement in the Trust and the role it plays within the community.

The evening progressed as a number of presentations were made. Partner Schools were recognised for their outstanding work and partnerships with many of our projects, before a number of individuals were praised for their remarkable dedication and hard work with some internal awards.

Full-time Employee of the Year awards went to both Danny McGregor and David Hayhurst. Part-time Employee of the year awards went to Nigel Baker and Emma Hook. Whereas the Community Project of the Year went to the team delivering the Premier League Kicks project.

The evening was rounded off by presenting a cheque to Nightsafe following on from our highly successful Sleep Out event back in November. The amount raised from the event was £12,687, which was a fantastic effort from everyone involved that will go to a worthwhile cause.

Following the launch, the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust Awards evening will take place on Friday 28th June 2019. The awards will recognise a participant, school, organisation or a member of staff who have excelled and gone above and beyond over the previous year within the Community Trust.

More awards will be handed out, which will include Outstanding School Sports Partner, Primary Star Award, NCS Ultimate Graduate, Premier League Kicks Ambassador, Volunteer of the Year, Overall Participant of the Year, Health Champion, Inclusion Champion, Education Champion, Sports Participation Champion and Special Recognition.

Each award will be available for sponsorship with an opportunity to gain maximum exposure, associating branding with one of the above awards.
