Tony Mowbray believes self belief is the only thing holding Amari'i Bell back.
A regular in the left back slot throughout this season, Bell's made the step up to Championship football after initially struggling to displace Derrick Williams in the second half of last season.
The 24-year-old scored his first goal in Rovers colours earlier this month, and Mowbray believes the attacking full back can only get better.
“Amari’i has a lot more development to come," the boss said when discussing the defender to iFollow Rovers.
"We knew why we signed Amari’i Bell. He’s different to Derrick Williams.
“He’s pleasantly surprised us with his defensive qualities. He has quick feet, works hard, we just need to give him a bit more belief in himself.
“Against Middlesbrough he was like a flying winger, going past two players and trying to get crosses into the box.
“I think the only one stopping Amari’i is Amari’i. He’s a good footballer and a lovely lad, we just need to keep nurturing him really and hopefully the best is to come from him," he added.
“He’s a young player who has come from a bigger club, gone down to get games and has come back to a bigger club. The talent is there, we know that, he just has to show that talent a bit more.
“He needs to keep pushing himself and driving himself on. Hopefully we’ll see a fantastic attacking full back running down the left for us."
