Rovers boss Tony Mowbray and forward Adam Armstrong have been nominated for the Sky Bet Manager of the Month and Sky Bet Player of the Month, respectively.

Following four games and four victories in the opening month of 2019, the boss is rewarded for overseeing the 100% winning record in the Championship.

Rovers earned an excellent home victory over West Bromwich Albion on New Year's Day before edging past Millwall late on at The Den.

Back-to-back home games offered Rovers a chance to continue their winning run, and they did just that by beating Ipswich Town and then Hull City, without conceding a goal.

Armstrong was influential in that run, assisting Bradley Dack's goal against West Brom before scoring and assisting in the 2-0 win at Millwall.

The form continued in the FA Cup as he scored against boyhood club Newcastle United.

Back in the league and the number 7 set up both strikes against Ipswich Town and nabbed a goal himself in the emphatic 3-0 defeat of Hull at Ewood Park.

The boss is up against Brentford boss Thomas Frank, Bristol City chief Lee Johnson and Swansea City's Graham Potter for the gong.

Arma's competition for the player prize comes in the form of Hull's international winger Kamil Grosicki, Swansea hitman Oli McBurnie and Aston Villa top scorer Tammy Abraham.

Winners for both awards will be announced on Friday 8th February, at 6am.

Good luck to the gaffer and Arma!
