Goalkeeper Danielle Hill has re-signed for Rovers Ladies.

The 30-year-old had called it quits at the end of last season after an incredible treble-winning season with the Blues, but is now returning for a third spell at the club.

She made 15 appearances for Rovers between 2008 and 2010 before turning out a further 79 times after rejoining during the 2014/15 season.

In that time she won Player's Player of the Season in 2015/16, broke the record for the most-clean sheets in the league for Rovers (20) and lifted seven trophies.

Danielle previously played in Iceland and Norway as well as for Women’s Super League clubs Everton, Doncaster Belles and Notts County.

And Gemma Donnelly is delighted to have secured the services of her former vice captain for a third time.

“Dan is an experienced shot-stopper having playing at the highest level and of course been involved at Blackburn when we achieved both league titles and cup successes.

“She is a great character to have back on the scene and I know she will work hard and offer great competition between all our goalkeepers.”

Hill goes straight into the starting 11 to face Fylde Ladies on Thursday evening.
