Damien Johnson says his side will have used this weekend as a time for rest and recovery, with the Under-23s set for a Lancashire Senior Cup semi-final showdown on Monday.
Accrington Stanley visit Rovers' Academy base at Brockhall to decide who will play either Rochdale or Burnley in the Final of the competition.
The clash comes just three days after the Development Squad played out a Premier League Cup draw against Everton in Southport.
And Johnson, whose side were knocked out of the competition at this stage last year, insists that fatigue shouldn't be an issue for his youngsters.
"It will be another tough game," he said when previewing the game.
"It's a quick turnaround (from Friday), but that's what the first team have to endure, in terms of Saturday-Tuesdays.
"So they have to look after themselves over the weekend and be ready to go again on Monday afternoon against what I'n sure will be a strong Accrington team."
Supporters are welcome to attend the game, with entry free of charge. In the event of the scores being level at the end of 90 minutes, the winner of the tie will be determined by penalties.
