Player of the Match Lauren Thomas felt Rovers had done enough to take at least a point from the game against London City, having dominated the majority of the second-half.
The forward was making her first start since breaking her collarbone in late August and provided Rovers with a fresh attacking threat.
Her pace and combination play with Saffron Jordan led to several chances after the break, but Gemma Donnelly’s side were unable to convert any of them.
However, the former Liverpool winger believes the team can take heart from the way they performed.
"Every single one of the girls put in a great shift,” Thomas said speaking to the FA after the game.
“So for me personally I still wouldn't want to be in any other environment than that.
"We've lost this game, but we've got to push on again, keep working hard in training and we'll go again in the next game.
"It's about focusing on getting the goals again and getting back to winning ways as soon as possible.
"We didn't get the result we deserved but if we play like that for the remainder of the season we will go far and we will keep pushing on.
“We won't give up and we'll just keep trying. We were good in all areas, we backed each other up and we won't let this result get us down.
"We're all together as a team here. Mistakes are mistakes, but we simply push on now."
