Rovers defender Scott Wharton has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month award for November.
Academy graduate Wharton has had a month to remember out on loan at high-flying fourth-tier side Northampton Town.
Although the 22-year-old is known more for his solid defending, he's shown his goalscoring talents as well in recent weeks.
He bagged a brace in the excellent 4-1 win over Crewe Alexandra before adding to his tally a week later in the 2-0 victory at home to Grimsby Town.
Wharton has helped Keith Curle's Cobblers shoot up the League Two table, and also progress in the Emirates FA Cup, with Scott scoring again in the 3-1 victory over Notts County in December.
And after an unbeaten month and three goals to boot, the centre back was rewarded for the fine form by being awarded the PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans’ League Two Player of the Month.
Things have now got better for the defender, who will hope to claim another monthly prize, but he's got some stiff competition.
Wharton will be up against Swindon Town's in form striker Eoin Doyle, Plymouth Argyle playmaker Antoni Sarcevic and Forest Green Rovers' Ebou Adams.
The winner will be announced on Friday 13th December, with the judging panel comprising of Sky Sports’ EFL League expert Don Goodman, EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan and Sky Bet EFL Trader Ivor Davies.
Good luck, Scott!
