Rovers Ladies will join other Women’s Championship clubs by showing support and raising awareness of Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign at Sunday’s game at home to London City Lionesses.
The campaign, which started on Friday November 22nd, aims to promote diversity and inclusivity in all areas of football, both on and off the pitch, and encourage communities to ‘Come Out Active’ by getting people to participate in something active in the name of LGBT equality in sport.
At Bamber Bridge, Rovers will highlight its continued support for LGBT fans, players and staff across the game by turning the social media logo and captain’s armband rainbow coloured, whilst rainbow laces will be provided to the players and the matchday programme will highlight the campaign.
Sunday’s activation reinforces Rovers' commitment to promoting inclusion and engaging with its diverse community under the #OneRovers banner, with the Men’s team supporting the Rainbow Laces campaign at Ewood Park against Barnsley in November.
Fans can show their support by visiting www.stonewall.org.uk/rainbowlaces to get their own laces and by using the official hashtags #RainbowLaces and #ComeOutActive when sharing content that celebrates LGBT people in sport online.
