15 August 2019

Rovers Under-23s will begin the defence of their Lancashire FA Senior Cup crown at home to Accrington Stanley next month.

The first round tie will take place at the LFA County Ground in Leyland on Tuesday September 10th, kick-off 7pm.

The two teams met at the semi-final stage last season, with Lewis Thompson scoring a last-gasp equaliser to send the tie to a penalty shoot-out, which Rovers won 3-2.

Rovers went on to lift the trophy for the first time in eight years, defeating local rivals Burnley 2-0 in the final thanks to second-half strikes from Hayden Carter and Jack Vale.

First round draw in full:

Bury v AFC Fylde
Rovers v Accrington Stanley
Bolton Wanderers v Wigan Athletic
Burnley v Fleetwood Town
Chorley v Preston North End
Barrow v Oldham Athletic
Morecambe v Rochdale
Blackpool v Everton
