Rovers defender Matty Platt has today re-joined National League side Barrow on a season-long loan.
The 21-year-old, who has been with Rovers since the age of nine, gained his first taste of senior football with the Bluebirds during the 2016-17 season.
A strong and commanding central defender, Platt featured in all three group games for Rovers in the 2017-18 Checkatrade Trophy campaign, before playing a key role in the Under-23s' Premier League 2 Division 2 title success.
He then spent the first half of last season on loan at League One side Accrington Stanley, before enjoying a short spell with National League North side Southport during the second half of the campaign.
After signing a new one-year contract with the club in May, which will keep him at Ewood Park until the summer of 2020, Platt was on the bench for the Championship trip to Fulham earlier this month and then started the League Cup first round victory over Oldham Athletic a few days later.
He will now hope to gain further first team experience with Barrow over the course of the 2019-20 campaign.
