Young Rovers defender Tyler Magloire has this morning completed his first loan move away from Ewood Park.
The 20-year-old, who has been with the club since the age of nine, has today joined League One side Rochdale on a season-long loan.
Having progressed through Rovers’ youth ranks, Magloire helped Damien Johnson’s development squad secure the Premier League 2 Division 2 title in 2017-18 and he captained the Under-23s to Lancashire FA Senior Cup success last season, beating Burnley in the final.
He made his Rovers debut against Wigan Athletic in March, producing an assured defensive display in the 3-0 victory at Ewood Park, and also started the 4-2 defeat away to Sheffield Wednesday a few days later.
The versatile and lightning-quick defender, who signed a new long-term contract with the club in February, will now benefit from gaining further first team experience during his season at Spotland.
Rochdale kicked off their 2019-20 campaign with a 3-2 victory away to Tranmere Rovers last Saturday and host Doncaster Rovers this weekend.
Rovers have given Brian Barry-Murphy’s side permission for Magloire to play in the Carabao Cup (Rochdale host Bolton Wanderers next Tuesday) and the EFL Trophy this season.
