Rovers can confirm the date for our Premier League Cup quarter-final tie away to Everton.
The game will be played on Tuesday April 23rd, with the kick-off time and venue still to be confirmed.
Damien Johnson’s side booked their place in the last eight of the competition courtesy of a superb 4-1 victory away to Stoke City in the last round.
Everton defeated Sunderland 2-1 in their Last 16 tie, having finished top of Group B ahead of Rovers.
The two teams have met on four occasions this season, with the Toffees tasting success three times.
In the Premier League Cup group stage, Rovers lost 1-0 at home to Everton back in November, before securing a 1-1 draw at Haig Avenue in February thanks to Dan Butterworth’s second-half strike.
David Unsworth’s side, who are currently top of Premier League 2 Division 1, have done the double over Rovers Under-23s in the league, winning 3-0 at Leyland and 2-0 in Southport.
The winners of the tie have been drawn away to Swansea City, who defeated Nottingham Forest on penalties in their quarter-final tie. The other semi-final sees Leeds United take on Newcastle United.

Rovers Under-23s return to league action on Monday April 8th, when they travel to Stevenage’s Lamex Stadium to take on Tottenham Hotspur, kick-off 7pm.
