Rovers are delighted to announce that Ryan Nyambe has today signed a new contract with the club.
The 21-year-old defender, who joined the club’s Academy at the age of 13, has put pen-to-paper on a new deal which will keep him at Ewood Park until June 2021.
After making his debut in a League Cup tie at home to Shrewsbury in August 2015, Nyambe is now closing in on 100 appearances for the first team and played a pivotal role in Rovers’ promotion from League One last term.
The right-back has remained a regular and consistent performer for Tony Mowbray’s side in the Championship this season, starting 25 league games, and he is looking forward to a bright future in blue-and-white.
“It feels great to get it signed,” said Nyambe, who has made 97 appearances in Rovers colours.
“This club means a lot to me. I’ve been here since I was 13, so it feels like home to me really and I’m very pleased to be staying for the next few years.
“I think I’ve improved as a player and as a person during my time here. The club has really helped me a lot in both respects and I’m very grateful for that.”
