Serena Fletcher was pleased with the work done at both ends of the pitch as Rovers came away with a 4-0 victory over Huddersfield Town Ladies.
The Blues have now stretched their winning run in the league to six games. And with cup finals on the horizon, Fletcher believes it’s the ideal preparation for those big games.
“It’s good to keep continuing to get the three points”, she said post-match.
“Even though we’ve won the league, we need to keep going because we’ve got finals coming up.”
Rovers have scored eight times in their last two games, to increase their goal difference to a mammoth 85.
The 20 year-old was full of praise for top scorers Saffron Jordan and Natasha Flint, who were both among the goals again on Tuesday night.
“They’re really good at attacking and being clinical in front of goal. And Tash Fenton as well on the right, I thought she did really well getting in the crosses for them to finish.”
Rovers recorded a second clean sheet in as many days, following up a 4-0 win away at Stoke, with the same scoreline against the Terriers.
The young defender said it was huge effort from the girls to come away with two shutouts in a short space of time, against tough opposition.
“I thought we did really well at the back considering we had the likes of Chelsey (Jukes) away and the back line had changed from Sunday.
“We came together well with different personnel and worked hard as a team to grind out the result.”
Rovers now turn their attention to the FA Women’s National League Cup Final against Crawley Wasps at the Pirelli Stadium next weekend. Fletcher admitted it’s a game everyone is looking forward to.
“It’s exciting to play against a team from down south. Hopefully we can go and win the cup.”
Tickets for next Sunday's final at Burton Albion FC are priced at £5 for adults and £2.50 for concessions.
