Tony Mowbray admits he's been impressed with Joe Rothwell's all round game after the playmaker made it two goals in as many games.
Rothwell's Goal of the Season contender saw him curl into the top corner of Costel Pantilimon's net just before the half hour mark, to get Rovers up and running against Nottingham Forest.
He did similar on Tuesday night against Derby County at Ewood Park, and Mowbray has been pleased with the 24-year-old's development, particularly in recent games.
“We all know Joe’s quality, he just has to be more disciplined in his positional play and work hard for the team out of possession," Tony told iFollow Rovers when discussing the number 8's superb performance.
“I’ve told him that. There’s no reason why Joe Rothwell can’t play every week and become a really fast Bradley Dack and create a profile for himself.
“But he has to score goals and contribute.
"It’s been brilliant to see him get in amongst the goals because he’s a great kid who hasn’t moaned when I’ve told him to work harder," he added.
“He’s done that and I’m delighted for him. He’s hungry to keep going and he’s being creative alongside his goalscoring. He’s shown that end product.
“I hope he’s confident. We have good players and we need to get the ball to them."
