Rovers Under-23s will be looking for a first league win of the season when they take on Tottenham Hotspur Under-23s this evening (Friday).
It's been a tough start to life back in the top tier for the youngsters, but there were plenty of positives to take from a 1-1 draw against Swansea City last time out.
With the first-team also in action this weekend, and again on Wednesday evening, manager Damien Johnson is expected to have a young squad at his disposal.
Summer additions Brad Lyons and Mitchel Candlin will be hoping to continue their game time under Johnson, and Jack Rodwell could feature again as he continues to gain match fitness following his first team run out at Bournemouth earlier in the week.
Highly-rated youngster Jalil Saadi could be in the squad, as could Matty Platt, who played against the Swans last week to get valuable minutes under his belt.
Rovers will also welcome back Hayden Carter, who missed out on the trip to Wales due to suspension last time out.
Kick-off at Leyland is 7pm this evening.
