Rovers have had the SAS in Sutton and Shearer in previous years and now the DAG partnership is proving to be just as fruitful.
Bradley Dack and Danny Graham both got their names on the scoresheet at Stoke City on Saturday, just as they did at Ipswich Town on the opening day of the season.
Last season saw the pair score in the same game on three occasions - against Portsmouth, Walsall and Peterborough United - all at home.
The partnership looks deadly at times and the boss was thrilled to see the combination in the attacking third prove clinical again at the weekend.
“They scored 18 and 16 goals each last season albeit in League One," Tony said after the game.
“Bradley is an exceptional player. I’ve worked with some pretty special players over the years, who are now playing in the Premier League and he is right up there with them.
“He is a special player, someone who uses his body and uses his hips. He doesn’t just stand up there waiting around behind the striker, he gets in the six-yard box and scores.
“Brad is a good guy who has a bright future in front of him. He needs to keep learning and keep going.
“Danny is towards the end of his career, but when I say that, I mean he is 33 and needs to enjoy his football, enjoy scoring goals and continue to do what he does.
"He’s fantastic in the dressing room and around the football club.
“They are both good players and I need to keep inspiring them. I expect lots from them and I'd have to say their interchanging play is very good."
