Rovers boss Tony Mowbray has rung the changes for the trip to AFC Bournemouth in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

Craig Conway captains the side and makes his 500th club career appearance, with the Scot joined in midfield by Joe Rothwell.

Jack Rodwell makes his first team debut for Rovers and will be at the heart of the defence against the Cherries.

Kasey Palmer makes a return to the starting XI, whilst Ben Brereton, like Rodwell, starts in Rovers colours for the first time.

For the hosts, experienced ex-England striker Jermain Defoe will start up front alongside French forward Lys Mousset.

Former Poland goalkeeper Artur Boruc will begin inbetween the sticks for the Cherries, and club-record signing Jefferson Lerma, who was part of the Colombia World Cup squad, will be in midfield.

Rovers old boy Josh King is available from the bench for Eddie Howe this evening. The Norwegian appeared 69 times for the club across a two-and-a-half year spell.

Kick-off at the Vitality Stadium is at 7.45pm, and you can follow all the action via iFollow Rovers and across our social media channels.
