Children in Syria will now proudly be wearing Rovers' colours thanks to a generous donation from the club.

Rovers recently donated 163 items of clothing to Al Dana Sports Club in Idlib, Syria, which provides free services to displaced and poor families in the north of the country.

The surplus stock was delivered by a local charity, Ummah Welfare Trust, and was welcomed with open arms by the footy-mad youngsters.

A spokesman for Al Dana Sports Club said: "We are a town team who play football in North West Syria and we would like to thank Ummah Welfare Trust and Blackburn Rovers for supporting us with these sportswear items."
