Tony Mowbray says the main difference between success and failure is consistency and wants to see solid performances on a regular basis from his side.
It's been a good start to life back in the Championship for Rovers, but Mowbray's still wanting more from his side, and reflects on what could have been for his team.
Small margins could be the difference, and Mowbray looks back at when he first arrived the highlight the importance of gaining points from games rather than a solitary point.
“I remember when I first came to the club that we lost just three of the first 15 games but we drew way too many. Ultimately, the way I see it, it’s about that extra bit of quality at times that proves to be the difference," Mowbray said to iFollow Rovers.
“We’re not far away though, we’re competing and enjoying every challenge thrown our way.
“The top teams are beginning to congregate at the top of the table; teams like Leeds United and Middlesbrough. That’s probably because of the consistency and the quality of their players.
“It’s too early to look at the league table in my opinion. Anybody can beat anybody. A tight defence, a 20-goal-a-season striker, they can be the differences between being up at the top of the league or fighting to stay in the division.
“Consistency of what we do and our performances are what we’re working on. We’re giving the same messages regularly about being consistent."
