Rovers new boy Ben Brereton is readying himself for a potential first appearance for England Under-20s, with Paul Simpson's side set to take on Switzerland on Thursday.

Brereton has been a regular for England's Under-19s over the past 18 months, scoring five goals in 18 appearances.

He has also represented his country in successive European Under-19 Championships, finishing as joint top scorer at the 2017 tournament, which England won after beating Portugal in the final.

The recent capture from Nottingham Forest linked-up with the Young Lions following Sunday's Championship clash at Bristol City.

Brereton's first involvement at Under-20 level could come against Switzerland on Thursday, with the game taking place at St Georges Park, kick-off 2pm.

Paul Simpson's squad will then head to the Netherlands to take on their Dutch counterparts at the home of KVV Quick Boys. The game will take place on Monday September 10th, kick-off 7pm.

Brereton will then return to Rovers for training ahead of the upcoming home game against Aston Villa at Ewood Park on Saturday September 15th.

Good luck, Ben!
