On a weekly basis, Blackburn Rovers Community Trust works alongside Blackburn Rovers to provide local youngsters with unforgettable experiences, as part of the Premier League's Primary Stars programme.

This week, it was the turn of rising Rovers stars Lewis Travis and Willem Tomlinson, who had the luxury of visiting Meadowhead Infant Community School in Blackburn.

After arriving to an array of smiles and cheers from their starstruck admirers, both Lewis and Willem wandered to the facility’s playground where the pupils were undertaking a cycling lesson as part of BRCT's ‘Tots 2 Tyres’ scheme.

Tots 2 Tyres is a unique scheme which is aimed at introducing young children to the basics of two-wheel cycling.

As opposed to simply observing, Lewis jumped at the chance to occupy a bike of his own, clearly demonstrating the sheer competitiveness which has been instilled into him from an early age.

And it wasn’t long before Willem was tempted to try his own luck on the track either, though he was overlapped by a number of the talented tots!

Following the cycling session, the duo proceeded indoors where an amusing Q&A session would await them.

Both players were quizzed on a variety of topics, including what period of history they’d travel back in time to, whilst they also revealed the secret identity of the grumpiest figure at the club!

The fun didn’t end there though, the class was subsequently split in two as Lewis and Willem read a book apiece to their allocated group.

It’s safe to say the children caught the eye of school and Rovers staff alike, as a number were asked to demonstrate their own literacy skills by reading a story to Willem himself.

Blackburn Rovers Community Trust would like to thank both Lewis and Willem for attending the event and making the afternoon such an enjoyable one.
