Rovers Ladies maintained their 100% league record and went top of the FAWNL Northern Premier Division table with a 10-0 victory over Bradford Women’s FC at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium on Tuesday night.
Five goals from Natasha Flint and another brace from Saffron Jordan helped the Ladies to victory, with further goals from captain Lynda Shepherd, Jess Holbrook and a first Rovers goal for Lauren Davies.
In a lively first half, the home side opened the scoring inside three minutes thanks to Flint’s solo run and cool finish.
Lynda Shepherd made it two with a curling effort over the 'keeper after Holbrook pulled the ball back for the captain.
The chances continued to be created early on and the third goal came when Flint beat the offside trap and rounded the 'keeper to score into an empty net after a long aerial ball from Kayleigh McDonald.
Flint got in behind the Bradford defence once again soon after and unleashed a powerful strike that beat Pilmer to score her hat-trick.
Her striker partner Jordan grabbed her first goal of the evening when the forward’s cross-come-shot went into the net via a deflection.
Davies then got in on the scoring, cutting in from the left and curling her shot into the corner.
Gemma Donnelly’s side scored a seventh when a deft touch round the corner from Jordan was met by Holbrook, who made no mistake from close range.
Flint found the net for a fourth time when Taylor's shot squirmed under the ‘keeper and fell to the striker on the line, who smashed the ball in.
At the other end, Hannah Shuttleworth’s shot from range was brilliantly tipped over the bar by Danielle Gibbons to preserve Rovers’ clean sheet record.
Jordan almost found a second goal but Pilmer did brilliantly again to push her close range effort over the bar.
But Rovers’ top scorer did grab a second – and a tenth of the season – when Holbrook set her up to slot the ball in from inside the box.
The Blues wrapped up the scoring with 10 minutes to go. Jordan turned provider this time, squaring the ball for Flint who took a touch and finished for her fifth and Rovers’ tenth.
Next up for the Ladies is Sunday’s trip to Teeside Park to face Middlesbrough Ladies, (2pm).
