Tony Mowbray says he'll take no risks for the trip to Bolton on Saturday, which is likely to mean Ryan Nyambe won't be in the squad.
The young right back limped off in the recent clash against Nottingham Forest last weekend with what looked like a hamstring injury.
It's certainly a blow for both the player and Rovers following the 20-year-old Namibian full back's fine start to the campaign.
“I pick each team on merit. We only have Nyambe who I’d class as a doubt for the game," the boss revealed.
"Why would we take a chance on him with a slight hamstring issue?
“He could make the injury worse by playing and we could then be without him for six or eight weeks. We won’t be taking chances with anyone. He has two weeks to get fully fit.
“The conundrum is how positive we pick a team. Do we play more artistic players or more physical players? If we win then everyone will say we have picked the right team. If we don’t then we haven’t."
Aside from Nyambe, Dominic Samuel and Ben Gladwin remain long-term absentees, whilst the local trip comes too soon for Jacob Davenport.
