He may only turn 17 next month, but Jalil Saadi is already making big strides in his Rovers career.

Saadi linked up as a first year scholar with the Rovers Academy back in June, and his impact has already seen the youngster be part of the Under-23s squad in recent weeks.

And things have got better for the teenager, who this week joined up with the Morocco Under-20s side for a week-long training camp.

The camp will take place at the National Football Centre “Maamoura” in Rabat, Morocco this week, with Saadi returning to Rovers after the conclusion of the training sessions, which end on Tuesday 16th October.

And Academy supremo Mike Sheron is pleased to see the progress being made by the young starlet.

“When players are playing well the opportunities come their way. If they then take those opportunities then it’s only going to benefit themselves," Sheron admitted.
“You find in youth football that players don’t take their chances when they first come around, and whilst that’s frustrating, you have to understand that that’s part of the learning process.
“It’s part of the journey with young players. Jalil only got his clearance a few weeks ago, and he’s still relatively new to life here at Rovers.
“Jalil needs games. He’s only played a few games for us but he looks assured, is adaptable in that he can play in a number of positions and that’s certainly a positive or him and us moving forward."
