Derrick Williams says he's loving life at an upwardly mobile Rovers and enjoying the battle for a spot in the starting team, too.
Williams has been in and out of the side this season having had a troublesome heel injury at the beginning of the campaign before missing out on the recent draw with Nottingham Forest due to suspension.
He's filled in at centre back at times due to injury to Charlie Mulgrew in recent weeks, but with the skipper back against Bolton, Williams was given the berth at left back against the Trotters in place of Amari'i Bell.
And the 25-year-old says things couldn't be going much better for him at Ewood Park at the moment.
“I’m enjoying it and feel we’re on the right track. There’s a good feeling and energy around the club," Del said to iFollow Rovers.
"The people at the club made it easy to sign a new contract here in the summer. Things are changing and the future is bright here I feel.
“Amari’i came in and did really well when I got injured. There’s competition for places and the boss will pick players on form.
“There’s plenty of competition all over the pitch and it’s only good for the team. It’s a team game, it’s not personal and you have to stay level headed, stay positive and keep going."
