Injuries are part and parcel of football, but a setback at his previous club now means Elliott Bennett is willing to give absolutely everything, week in week out.

The 29-year-old has been a regular feature in the blue and white since signing from Norwich City in January 2016 and has appeared 111 times since linking up with Rovers.

And the ex-Brighton & Hove Albion man has revealed that he had a change of outlook when it came to football during his time in Norfolk.

“After I got injured at Norwich it hit home how much I appreciate the game," Bennett said honestly to iFollow Rovers.

"When you’re younger, everything is nice, your loving it. But injury happens and it allows you to re-focus your mind.

“Even the little things like being in the dressing room with the lads, the music playing and everyone wishing each other well, when that gets taken away from you it hurts.

“I’m not getting any younger and I understand football doesn’t last forever. I want to give everything I’ve got for the club and for the cause."
