George Wilson’s stunning strike against West Ham United is in the running for the LFE’s Goal of the Month award for October.

The Rovers youngster unleashed an unstoppable 25-yard shot into the top-right corner in the 3-0 Premier League Cup victory over the Hammers at Brockhall.

Wilson’s thunderous drive from distance is one of 12 great goals from across the Academy leagues to make the cut in October.

The winner will qualify for a chance to claim the 2018-19 Goal of the Season prize.

This is the third monthly instalment of the competition, after Bolton Wanderers’ Luca Connell and Bristol City’s Bradley Webb secured the highest votes in August and September.
