Ryan Nyambe looked a man reborn after making such an impact against Rotherham United at Ewood Park the last time Rovers were on the grass.
It was hard to believe that was the rampaging right back's first outing since limping off against Nottingham Forest at the end of September.
The 20-year-old's development has been more than noticable over the last 18 months, and Nyambe says his improvement is down to one man.
“It’s down to the gaffer for having the confidence in me to play me. I’ve learned under the manager and the coaches we have here," the Namibian-born number 2 said ahead of the trip to Preston North End this weekend.
“For him to have confidence in me and playing me in the team, it gives me so much belief. As a person, the manager is a great guy.
“The way he wants to play, he likes to change things depending on the opponent, which shows you he isn’t set in his ways.
“I still have things to learn. The end product needs to improve. I’d like to add goals and assists to my game and I think that'll come.
“I’ve always enjoyed defending, taking the ball of people. As you get older and get to the higher level you realise you need to have that attacking side to your game as well."
