Tony Mowbray has made six changes to the side that started at West Bromwich Albion last time out for the visit of Queens Park Rangers to Ewood Park today.
For Rovers, Jayson Leutwiler earns a first appearance of the season as he deputises for the injured David Raya, who misses out after breaking his nose against West Bromwich Albion last week.
The other changes see a return to the XI for Darragh Lenihan, Amari'i Bell, Corry Evans, Adam Armstrong and Danny Graham, who all come into the side.
The outgoings see Raya and Mulgrew miss out on the squad, whilst Jack Rodwell, Joe Rothwell, Craig Conway and Kasey Palmer all dropping to the bench.
Armstrong appears in a starting line up for the 100th time in his career, whilst Bradley Dack makes his 50th league start for Rovers.
Harrison Reed makes his 50th career league start against the side who he scored against last season for Norwich City.
Opponents QPR name two changes from their side that began against Aston Villa last time out, with loanees Geoff Cameron and Tomer Hemed being left out of the squad for today's clash.
