Rovers are looking to get back to winning ways at home to Sheffield Wednesday.
Here’s our guide to the Roses clash…
STATE OF PLAY
Rovers have suffered back-to-back defeats for the first time in over a year, but sit in 13th position in the Sky Bet Championship table, having won six and drawn eight of the opening 19 games of the season. The Blues took four points from the last two games on home soil, against Rotherham United and QPR, ahead of Saturday’s visit of Sheffield Wednesday. As always, we'll be bringing you team news and live updates via social media. Fans can follow the action on our official Twitter account, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.
Tony Mowbray said in his pre-match press conference on Thursday that there are “a few knocks and niggles” in the squad. Darragh Lenihan is a doubt after a hip injury kept him out of Wednesday’s defeat at Wigan. The rest of the squad will be assessed in training on Friday before deciding who is available. Elliott Bennett is back from suspension for the game, having served his one-match ban. There will be an exclusive interview with the midfielder inside Saturday's matchday programme.
It has been a tough start to the season for Sheffield Wednesday, but they come into the game off the back of a 1-0 home victory over Bolton Wanderers. It was the Yorkshire clubs’ first win in seven games and that victory has lifted them up into 16th position in the table – three places and three points below Rovers. Wednesday have travelled reasonably well so far this season, winning three games on the road in the league.
