The Blues begin November with a league match on home soil...

1 November 2018

Rovers will look to build on a fantastic display at West Brom by beating QPR at Ewood Park this weekend.

Here's our guide to the game...

STATE OF PLAY

Last time out, Rovers put another point on the board with a 1-1 draw against West Brom. Harrison Reed's second-half screamer cancelled out Craig Dawson's opener, but injury to David Raya with all three substitutions made meant the Blues had to see the game out with 10 men. It was a positive end to a positive month, and November begins with a return to Ewood Park to take on in-form QPR, with the two sides 12th and 10th respectively going into the match. As always, we'll be in attendance, bringing you team news and live updates via social media. Fans can follow the action via our official Twitter account, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00pm.

TEAM NEWS

Mowbray confirmed during his pre-match press conference on Thursday that it's too early to make a call on defensive duo Charlie Mulgrew and Darragh Lenihan, but Ryan Nyambe, Jacob Davenport and Jack Rodwell have all trained with the first team. Raya has travelled to Spain to spend time with family and friends, with a facial injury ruling him out of action, and handing an opportunity to Jayson Leutwiler. Dominic Samuel (ACL) and Ben Gladwin (knee) remain long-term absentees. Both starting line-ups will be revealed an hour before kick-off on matchday via social media.

OUR OPPONENTS

As mentioned, QPR are a side in fine form. They have won four and drawn one of their last five games, with their most recent result a 1-0 victory over Aston Villa. The R's have scored just 15 goals in their 15 league games so far this season, but have 23 points on the board, which means they are just two outside the play-offs as things stand. The London club finished 16th last term, and will be hoping for an improved campaign under former England boss Steve McClaren. Saturday's clash will be the 47th between the sides, and our first since last February. Rovers have an excellent record against QPR, and have suffered just one defeat in this fixture since 1993. Our overall record reads W20 D12 L14.

FOOTBALL AND FIREWORKS

Saturday will see Rovers host a day of football and fireworks, in celebration of the club's 143rd birthday, Diwali and Bonfire Night. With plenty of discounts and entertainment on offer, it promises to be one to remember. Stick around after the full-time whistle for an LED light show, followed by a fireworks display and a man-of-the-match interview live on the Ewood Park pitch. There will also be live music in Blues Bar from 6pm, and up to 20% off drinks. Please note, supporters will not be able to walk around the back of the Riverside Stand before, during or after the game.
