Unbeaten in four games in all competitions, Rovers Under-18s will be hoping to continue their fine form when they take on Leicester City Under-18s later this afternoon.
Rovers will play the Foxes at the Leicester training ground in the Under-18 Premier League Cup on Saturday, with kick-off being 11am.
Billy Barr's outfit will be buoyed by some excellent form, with the most recent win coming in emphatic fashion as the youngsters dismantled West Bromwich Albion 4-1 at Brockhall last weekend.
And following a 3-0 win in game one of the competition against West Ham United last month, Professional Development Phase Assistant Coach Mike Sheron is hoping to take a big step forward by beating the Foxes on their own turf.
"I think Leicester are fourth or fifth in the southern league and have had some mixed results, which is pretty typical of every youth team," Sheron said.
"I'm sure it'll be a good challenge and it's a game we're all really looking forward to, especially after starting so well in the cup competition with a good win against West Ham.
"It's a great opportunity for us. Another win will put us in with a very good chance of qualifying for the next stage of the competition, so the challenge has been laid down to the lads to get a positive result."
Good luck, lads!
