Rovers Professional Development Phase Assistant Coach Mike Sheron says it's clear progress is being made by the Under-18s following an emphatic win against West Bromwich Albion.
Rovers made it four games undefeated - with three wins in that sequence - against the Baggies at the weekend, with a 4-1 victory at Brockhall.
A Vilius Piliukaitis brace and further goals from Jack Vale and a stunner from George Wilson secured a comfortable victory at Brockhall Village.
The form is a far cry from last season when the youngsters struggled for regular wins.
And Sheron was thrilled by a near complete display at the weekend.
“We were pleased with the lads because we had two or three weeks without a game and you always wonder what the reaction will be," he said.
“We had a strategy, stuck to it and should have scored more to be honest. I don't think West Brom could have had any complaints had we scored seven or eight goals. We played very well and we're pleased with the outcome.
“We hit the post twice, their goalkeeper produced a couple of really good saves and the performance was one of our best this season. However, there are still a couple of areas where we need to improve in.
“We feel as if as as group they're listening, learning and getting the rewards.
“We're definitely improving. Progress is being made and it's pleasing to see the majority of the group being first year scholars.
“It takes time to get that confidence and belief and with the form we're in we really do feel that the lads go out onto the pitch expecting to win games.”
