Midfielder Corry Evans wants Rovers to hit the ground running for our first game after the international break when we head to Preston North End on Saturday.

It promises to be an exciting derby day battle at Deepdale at the weekend, with the hosts on a seven-game unbeaten run and Rovers in good form themselves.

Evans was one of two Rovers players on international duty since our last game against Rotherham United almost two weeks ago.

He scored when playing for Northern Ireland in the break, and is eager to ensure a winning return to club duty.

“The league is so tight at the minute. You check results every week and it’s so unpredictable," Evans told iFollow Rovers.

"The team that is the most consistent will be up there at the end of the season.

“You can’t turn up and win. You need to work and fight for every ball, like we do, with that little bit of quality as well.

“You look at QPR and Birmingham and at the start of the season they couldn’t buy a win but they’ve shown how quickly things can chance when you string some results together.

“It’s one of those leagues where you can easily lose five on the bounce or win five on the bounce.”
